High School Dance Camp started on Monday morning, June 29th with over 250 students at camp this year. Our schedule was packed full of unique and diverse classes for all the dancers. They each learned an all camp dance, three break-out routines from various styles of dance (everything from hip hop, lyrical, contemporary to pom and show), a kick line routine, took ballet and other technique classes, a pilates and Masters class, and more.

One of the greatest highlights of the year for all the students and teachers alike was a Masters class given by Shane Sparks, noted Hip Hop dancer, choreographer, and judge of MTV's America's Best Dance Crew and Fox's So you think you can Dance. Shane taught an energetic routine to the campers, and shared his heart about dancing to all the students. He also stayed for an hour after the classes to give autographs and take pictures with the star gazed dancers. It was an exciting day at camp.

Another stand out experience at camp is the Formal Dinner that takes place on the last evening of camp. All the dancers change out of their dance attire and grubbies, fix their hair and get dressed up for a formal dinner and dance. They all had a blast!

The final day of camp consists of review, and the parent presentation show where all the dancers get to show their loved ones what they've learned and poured their heart and soul into for the week of camp. The dancers all did spectacular this year on their performances. We awarded dancers with various ribbons and trophies and wished them the best for their new season on their teams this year.
